Debate hosted by the ABU Education Fund and University of Utah’s John R. Park Debate Society
Salt Lake City, UT – On Wednesday, the ABU Education Fund and the University of Utah’s John R. Park Debate Society will host a primary debate for Salt Lake City Mayor. The debate will be held on at the Salt Lake City Public Library, Nancy Tessman Auditorium, and will be open to the general public. The Facebook event can be found here.
Members of the general public can submit questions for consideration here. Submission of a question does not guarantee that it will be asked, and it must be submitted by 5pm today, June 24th.
Members of the media wishing to cover the event should RSVP to Katie Matheson by today at 3pm to ensure sufficient space is set aside. On Wednesday, the room will be open to press starting at 6pm to set up. Because of the high level of interest in this event, we recommend press arrive no later than 6:15pm.
The event will be aired live on KCPW radio, as well as on Facebook Live on KCPW’s Facebook page. A recording will also be available after the event.
The ABU Education Fund and the John R. Park Debate Society have teamed up for the past four years to offer debates in races for the Utah Legislature, State School Board, and the 3rd Congressional District special election in 2017.
While the ABU Education Fund is the logistics organizer for the debates, all matters relating to format, substance, and moderation of the debate are controlled exclusively by the John R. Park Debate Society.
